Oh well, Hi. Guess we need a greeting before getting down to the nitty-gritty. How's life? The last two months had been a blur to me. I proceeded to my tertiary education, entering a university, starting my life as a foundation student, meeting many new faces and befriending a few. I have never been very good at socializing, so adapting to the new place and new people took me quite some time and not without getting homesick alone in the dorm. In fact, I'm still accustoming myself to this new small community now after 2 months of staying. But I'd say that I am a little blessed with my cousin studying in the same school where we get to meet up every day for lunch and dinner. The even more awesome thing about having her around is that we get to roam out of the campus every weekend, to the city malls out there, and try out new food and new stuffs. Just one night that rang me a bell and I started making plans to write food reviews for every new dining place we have been...

Just stop looking at your phone

Image
Stop, You need to stop looking at your phone, You need to stop texting whoever that's on the other side of the line,  There is a real one right opposite you, Whom you should look into her eyes  when she talks. I always appreciate and value the nice people around me who pay attention, who listen with heart, who make an effort to understand and be connected, when we talk. Though, the ironic fact is that there is only a handful of them. Nevertheless, I will give the highest credit to my cousin, Taco. It always warms me like the fireplace does on a chilly night that we can give ourselves a break from the social media, turning off the wifi and mobile data, and just talk. The literal one, not a talk through the keyboards. She listens and gives advice which might not help and might not be the best, but I value and I reciprocate. Dating back to the short family beach getaway we had last March, it was night and after roaming around the resort for time more than ...

The Movie Call Me by Your Name, how is it? [review+summary]

Image
Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine. And there went rounds after rounds of Elio Oliver Elio Oliver game. CMBYN is a story about finding, falling, letting go, moving on.  Seriously though, are you sure the author wasn't in two minds whether to add olive oil into her aglio e olio or not when writing the book?Because I find this explanation very positive. My goldfish memory says why I am writing a review right after watching it yesterday as who knows after 1 more day, my memory might just go dead. Summary  (The summary below is literally just a summary where I am briefly writing out the storyline without many details. So if you have watched the movie or read the book, you could skip to the review part.) Every summer, Elio 's father would have a graduate student coming over for help and the same went for that year, when Oliver would stay  with the family for some days. As Oliver and Elio got close, developing a friendship that slowl...

TFDD/ The Fashion Dos & Donts : The Pear-shaped Pals

Image
Well well, every female creature dreams to have apple, inverted-triangle shaped body and maybe a small proportion of them too desire an attractive hour glass body.  Why? Because those body shapes can let them pull off almost every kind and every style of clothing stunningly. They can look great even in a piece of rag.  That’s totally a thing girls with pear-shaped bodies envy from time to time. I have stronger-than-the-strongest empathy on this, being a cant-go-wrong pear-shaped lady myself.  Pear-shaped people, it makes no difference how skinny they are. If they wear a t-shirt with the wrong length and worse if they match it with a pair of skinny jeans, they will look having-consumed-too-much-lately. I have had struggles buying clothes ever since I started “growing up” and going through that damn puberty . I used to own an okay body where the shoulders appeared to be broader than the hips until that damn puberty came gate-crashing. The change was co...

A bibliophile much? Come bruh.

Image
OKAY STOP FROWNING OVER THE WORD "BIBLIOPHILE". (I googled that one up ppft, trying to sound like a professional but seems trying too hard pft.) No, I actually just wanted to attract people so that they would click in. Are you one of them huh. There are two types of people in this world. Those who love reading and those who don't ; There are two types of readers in this world. Those who prefer real books and those who prefer e-books (okay, let's pretend there is no such thing as audible books) ; There are two types of real-books lovers in this world. Those who buy books in the concrete, real, your-hands-can-touch-the-walls bookstores and those who buy from the online bookstores. If you are, like me, always lazy to go out as it means putting on a clean (I mean decent) t-shirt, THE pair of jeans that have been sprawling out on your bedroom floor since last last last week and your flip flops, I bet you prefer buying books  online  which is a lot easier and qui...
