On a budget? : 3D2N Kuala Lumpur getaway

Wanting to have a short getaway with friends?

Hunting for good food and good shopping heavens ?

Having a budget?

Well, I guess this is the right place. No kidding, using “I guess” because my mum always tells her children to be humble. Peace. ✌🏻

——————————————————————

If you are a local (I mean Malaysian, I’m from Malaysia fyi) you can plan a trip to Kuala Lumpur just like how my friends and I did during this holiday.

And if you are a foreigner, you should definitely visit Kuala Lumpur too as there were lots of shopping malls and you will get to buy your favorite stuffs at lower price as, you know, *bitter laugh* our country’s currency is dropping lmao, or else there won’t be so many Singaporeans visit Johor Bahru and shop till they drop.

Besides the shopping malls, you will get to try out our famous local cuisine *though* I suggest Penang will be a better choice for that.

Okay here we go!

3days2nights trip to KL
For 3 persons or more!

Trip outline:

(Bukit Bintang -> Damansara -> Sunway)

  • Accommodation:
Airbnb

Via Airbnb, we booked the entire unit of Painter’s Studio located at Empire Damansara. Of course, there are still a lot of better and more affordable places for a pleasant stay. All you need is to set the place/ area you will be going to and also the number of guests, Airbnb will then find you the perfect fit.

Be sure to read the reviews and contact the host first!

The studio we were staying was super duper clean, though it was manual-check-in based🔑, it didn’t make checking in difficult at all. In fact, there were only a few simple steps to follow before we got to our studio.

💰 Cost: RM312.63 for 3 days and 2 nights (inc service fee)

Each person (taking it as 3ppl in total) around RM104

2 queen beds,🛏 1 sofa bed🛋Hairdryer, iron, electric kettle and fridge provided. No stove for cooking. Free wifi.

  • Transportation:

Grab car/ Uber 🚖

Trains/ LRT/ MRT/ Commuter 🚉

Download the NAVITIME Transit App and transportation will not be a problem. You can know more about it hereThe nearest station to Empire Damansara will be Mutiara Damansara, in order to get there(from ED to MD or the other way round), you need to grab a car (grab car) . And from Mutiara Damansara you can head to your destination by trains.

Note that Grabcar for night will be more expensive.

When we went to Pavilon, we spent RM7.50 on Grab from Empire Damansara directly to Bukit Bintang but as we made our return at night, the Grab cost us RM36.00. So take a note here!
Some taxi drivers who also register to be the grab drivers will usually add RM1.50 onto the original charge, in return, they will choose a faster route. So it is up to you lol!

3 days, I had roughly spent RM34.00 on transport (for one person) excluding the train tickets. For the locals, a touch-n-go card will make everything easier, or you can use your IC. You can definitely spend less in transportation if you avoid taking grab/uber at night.

  • First day:

Shopping: 🛍

Pavilion

Fahrenheit 88

Sephora, Starhill Gallery

You know what, Google is an useful tool, so we should use it wisely and google the mall directory ourselves. Be independent!

It is quite a happening area. Night bars all that. And Sephora, I mean, every girl’s dream place! 💄💋

Food:

KyoChon 1991 🍗

Comment:

DAMN GOOD if you are very into the 🇰🇷 Korean chicken wings and drumsticks. *die hard lovers*

Their sauces are going to make you cry while your heart and soul are going vavavoom. But honestly, the drumsticks and wings are too small lmao, tiny pea!*, can’t get enough of them ugh.

Anyways. Worth a try!

Price: 💰💰 (it depends. If you have a gigantic stomach like the universe black hole, you might need to spend a lil more here.)

Rate: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 / 5

llao llao 🍦

Comment:

Not bad, the yogurt. With a variety of choices for toppings. A good choice to freshen up your mouth?* after that greasy chicken meal. Btw, they say the right way to pronounce llaollao is “yáoyáo”.

Price: 💰 (around RM10+ if you add fruits or other toppings onto your llaollao, the plain one will be RM5)

Rate: 🔥🔥🔥 / 5

Lavender Bakery 🥐

This was where we bought our breakfast for the next day lol.

No comment for their breads 🥖and pastries 🥨 cuz’ I’m not the b-n-p lover lmao.

  • Second day:

Shopping:

1 Utama

Ikea

The Curve

(again, use Google for directory!)

1 utama mall is very near to our studio, taking a grab only needs 10mins.

Also, Ikea and The Curve mall are only a 5mins drive away.

Food:

有间面馆 Go Noodle House 🍜

Comment:

OKAY HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS ON FIRE 🔥

I KNOW YOU MUST BE QUESTIONING WHAT MAKES IT SO AWESOME SINCE NOODLES ARE ONLY WHAT IT SERVES but damn. Just damn. You need to try. The fishballs meatballs bursting, arousing. Spicy/ original. Wet/ dry noodles. The soup blahblahblah Pan Mee!🥢 Dhiasksjskskwoskakkaoka

Can this be counted as a Chinese cuisine? In my book, it is. And of course, it is not just about noodles and noodles, you can order some side dishes too.

Price: reasonable. 💰 (one bowl around RM13)

It is going to satisfy your palate and make you return next time for another try!

Rate: 🔥🔥🔥🔥💥 =4.5  / 5 (Still I’m not going to overrate it and give it full-fire lmao, I HAVE GOT STANDARDS. 🌚🌚🌚 )

The Fish Bowl

🐟 + 🥗

*Healthy choice*

It serves poké bowls not pokemon and you can “customize” your own fish salad bowl or choose from the on-the-go section where four types of poké bowls are available.

*pics not mine

*pics not mine

Just in case you have been suffering from constipation for a few days and are in great despair, you can try this out and let me assure you, YOUR FAECES ARE GOING TO BE EXPELLED through YOUR ANUS SMOOTH LIKE EELs THE NEXT DAY MORNING.

*Shit, stop being gross, I say stop.$;/&:2@/&-*😑

Comment:

Average, I kind of like it but two-persons-sharing-a-bowl will be better as one-for-one is probably going to make you sick of eating it.

Price: 💰💰 Not cheap though, one is around RM18.

Rate: 🔥🔥🔥 / 5

KOI 🥤

Taiwanese Milk Tea!

Comment:

Honestly, I was surprised that it tasted like nothing special. I ordered Green Milk Tea I guess? Uhm, not quite sure. So no offence, but KOI is a lil overrated lolll, dont beat me!

Okay just to make things better, KOI can be a good place to take a rest and take a sip after all that tiring walking.

Price: 💰 (around RM7 for one)

Rate: 🔥🔥 / 5

  • Day 3:

Shopping :

Sunway Pyramid

Okay fyi, most of the Airbnb hosts will require the guests to check out most lately at 12:00pm., so we checked out earlier and, with our luggages tagged along, we headed to Sunway Pyramid around 9:00 a.m. by trains.

With our IMPRESSIVE perseverance and persistence, we sat through 28 stops which took 1 hour and 40 minutes and got off at Sunway Lagoon.

Feeling troubled having to pull your luggage along as you shop? No worries, you can keep your luggage in the locker there!

RM5 for one token. *there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch mate*

Food:

Mr Tuk Tuk 🥘🥄

Comment:

Okay-okay 👌🏻 Thai food. Satay was delicious. 🍢As for Pad Thai, uhm I had tried better. 🍴

Price: 💰💰 slightly higher than the average. (RM75 approx for 3 persons)

Rate: 🔥🔥🔥 / 5

The platter was nice btw. 🍍🍚🍴

——————————————————————Spending on food (in total): *at least RM100——————————————————————

🏠accommodation + 🚊transportation + 🥪food

= RM104 + RM30* + RM100

= RM234 / less 💵

And the rest will be the money to spend on shopping!

🛒🛍🛒

Leisure time!

All pictures are mine except the ones marked with * and the logo pictures.

Hope you like this having-a-budget-no-worries getaway post! ✌🏻
